Christmas Gifts for Writers #3 – the mStand

The mStand by Rain Design inc  is a robust metal stand that turns your laptop into a desktop. As illustrated bellow, the mStand will actually save your neck by putting the screen at eye-level. Pair it with a wireless keyboard and mouse for an uncluttered minimalist work space.

Christmas Gifts for Writers #2 – Leuchtturm Notebooks

The official notebook of my morning pages, Leuchtturm is the last word in overpriced European notebooks. Smooth paper, solid construction, Leuchtturms come in three sizes and many colors, ruled, dotted or plain. What sold me on it are the numbered pages and table of contents, perfect for organizing journals and projects.

Christmas Gifts for Writers #1 – Pour Over Coffee

In the writer’s toolkit, coffee is slightly more important than the pen. Some writers don’t use pens, all writers use coffee*. I say ‘use’ because, in the writing game, coffee is more of a performance enhancing drug than a beverage.

Lately I’ve been brewing mine with a simple pour over, the coffee maker of choice for the Minimalists’ book tour. It’s the best. It’s cheap, it’s portable. Since it doesn’t accumulate residue, you don’t really have to clean it; I’ll never go back to dismantling my French press and scrubbing the filter with a toothbrush…

The pour over’s functionality makes it the perfect gift for the minimalists on your list, while the smell and taste of P.O coffee are sure to please those sybarites who are so hard to shop for!
